Sponsored by the Cincinnati Art Club, there were 22 artists from Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio that particapated. Some were from as far away as Columbus and Indianapolis. Next week we will finish with a wet paint sale of the newly created canvases.

Plein Air– Anderson Ferry

Boone No. 7
12" x 16", Oil on Canvas
8/2013

Boone No. 7 is the oldest ferry still working on the Ohio River. Built in 1937, this paddle-wheeler was first powered by steam and then converted to diesel. One of three ferry boats used at Anderson Ferry.

I found out she is still work (much to my chagrin), when they cast off her lines and pulled away from the bank, 1 hour into my painting. I had just sketched in her shape and I painted all around that waiting for her return to shore. I got about a total of about 45 minuets to paint her in.
