Commemorative of Boston's Winter

Nocturne– Boreas' Profound Fervor
43.5" x 33.5", Oil on Canvas
02/2015

Feeling inspired by seeing Mr. Turner's paintings and recognizing the record setting season in Boston led to this night scene. Here's the description from my catalogue d' raisonnĂ©: Another '15 evening Nor' easter– USS Constitution laid up prior to hauling, Charlestown Navy Yard, Massachusetts.

Small Winter Painting

Winter– Honerlaw Farm 2
8" x 10", Oil on Canvas Panel
02/2015

A second view of the Honerlaw farm, just outside Olde West Chester, Ohio. Straddling West Chester Road, this farm lends itself to nearly monochrome portraits when cloaked in Winter's snows.

New Pond Painting

Reserves Park– Lotus 11
36" x 24", Oil on Canvas
02/2015

A new companion piece for RP– Lotus 9, this painting can be displayed as part of a pair. Just past their peak, the pond in late June/early July still has many blossoms, but the seed pods are turning brown and will soon dry enough to drop their cargo.

Winter Nocturne

Sunset Over the Basin
8" x 10", Oil on Canvas Panel
01/2015

Winter skies present some striking colors, especially at sunset. The hillsides that ring the city basin of Cincinnati present excellent vantage points to portray the urban landscape against Mother Nature's display.

New Miniature

Waiting for the Bus
6" x 8", Oil on Canvas Panel
01/2014

Working on possible entries for the up coming "Tiny" show at Pop Revolution Gallery. I enjoyed including this gal in a recent commission and thought she might deserve a larger treatment. Here I've cropped in, but the full figure may make it into a larger painting.

Nocturnes Continued

Hill Street Silhouette
16" x 20", Oil on Canvas
01/2015

Still working in the nocturne theme. This is a view from Hill Street in the Mt. Adams neighborhood of Cincinnati, looking over the Ohio toward Covington, Kentucky. In the darkness of the foreground is the small park at the top of the Celestial Street steps. The home pictured is actually on Riverview Place, the very brow of Mt. Adams.
